Intense Solar Flare Captured by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory


The Sun emitted a strong solar flare, peaking at 10:22 p.m. ET on May 2, 2024. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory, which watches the Sun constantly, captured an image of the event. Solar flares are intense bursts of radiation emanating from the release of magnetic energy associated with sunspots.
