Dubin-Johnson Syndrome in twins linked to novel genetic mutations - EurekAlert


<p>Scientists studied a rare liver disorder called Dubin-Johnson syndrome (DJS) caused by a faulty gene. They found two mutations in this gene: one significantly reduced the amount of protein produced, and the other reduced the protein reaching the cell surface. These malfunctions likely cause DJS by preventing the body from properly disposing of waste products.</p>
