Discovery of bacterial proteins that induce asexual reproduction in insects - EurekAlert


Bacterial endosymbionts in the genus <em>Wolbachia</em> can induce asexual reproduction in their insect hosts to ensure their transmission to future generations. A new study in <em>Genome Biology and Evolution </em>reveals the bacterial proteins involved in this phenomenon.
