A Caribbean-wide restoration program - how to breed corals and reintroduce them into the wild on a large-scale - EurekAlert

It’s a success story: SECORE International‘s concept of Coral Seeding is applied within a training and partner network among 9 Caribbean nations. Coral Seeding takes advantage of the natural reproduction of corals in synergy with engineered solutions to implement a comprehensive and large-scale restoration approach. Within just five years, the Fundación Dominicana de Estudios Marinos (FUNDEMAR) is now the first organization to successfully transition from the role of trainee to that of trainer. Both organizations are committed to further advance sustainable reef enhancement in terms of capacity building and up-scaled application – throughout the Caribbean and beyond.
