Unveiling the bias distribution in the photoelectrochemical overall water-splitting cell and corresponding regulations - EurekAlert

Both hydrogen evolution and oxygen evolution reactions can be the rate-limiting factor of the photoelectrochemical overall water-splitting cell. By selecting the appropriate photoanode material, electrolyte pH and coupled half-reactions, the bias distribution can be effectively regulated, which guides the fabrication of the unbiased photoelectrochemical overall reaction cell. This work was recently published in National Science Review.
