Unprecedented deep oxidative desulfurization with precisely designed Ti sites - EurekAlert

<p>In a paper published in <em>National Science Review</em>, a team proposed a method of modulating the electrostatic interface during synthesis of mesoporous titanium silicates, achieving the precise construction of highly active framework hexa-coordinated Ti (TiO6) single sites on mesopore surface. These TiO6 sites exhibited extraordinary catalytic oxidative ability, completely removing a series of thiophenic sulfurs. The removal efficiency was reported to be five times higher than that with the best catalyst reported so far.</p>
