Understanding the origin of superconductivity in high-temperature copper oxide superconductors - EurekAlert


The origin of superconductivity of high-temperature superconductors such as those based on copper oxides are not clearly understood. In a new study, researchers have discovered a hidden long-range charge density wave order in the pseudogap state of the optimally doped Bi2Sr2-xLaxCuO6+δ superconductor, induced by uniaxial strain. These findings offer significant insights for constructing theoretical models of superconductivity and can lead to the development of novel superconductors.
