UConn lab sequences rabies in black bear - EurekAlert


he&nbsp;Connecticut Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory&nbsp;(CVMDL) located at UConn&nbsp;compared the genome from a bear found to have rabies with a global virus gene bank.&nbsp; <p>They found that the virus, which was the only sample from a bear in the gene bank, most closely resembled a rabies virus sequence from a raccoon in New England. These results were published in&nbsp;Microbiology Resource Announcements.</p>
