Sustainable biocomposites pave the way for eco-friendly 3D printing innovations - EurekAlert

Researchers at RISE PFI in Norway have made strides in the development of biocomposites for 3D printing, focusing on the use of poly(hydroxyalkanoate) (PHA) elastomer and kraft pulp fibers to improve the properties of poly(lactic acid) (PLA). The study, published in the "Journal of Bioresources and Bioproducts," provides a comprehensive analysis of how these biocomposites can be tailored for fused deposition modeling (FDM), a prevalent 3D printing technique.
