SRF launches the SYNGAP1 missense account with Nordmoe family donation - EurekAlert

SynGAP Research Fund (SRF) announced a $10,000 donation from Dennis and Janet Nordmoe to research SYNGAP1 missense variants, motivated by their granddaughter Olivia's diagnosis with SYNGAP1-Related Disorder (SRD). Olivia, diagnosed in February 2023, faces developmental challenges. The donation aims to fund the creation of induced Pluripotent Stem Cells, crucial for developing therapies. Olivia's family hopes this research will unlock treatments for missense variants, benefiting Olivia and others with similar conditions. SRF, a leading patient advocacy group, supports research and development to improve the lives of SYNGAP1 patients.
