Soft fabric necklace monitors care of preterm, low-birth-weight infants - EurekAlert
Columbia Engineers have developed Joey, a lightweight sensing fabric neckalce that enables mothers to effortlessly monitor their Kangaroo Mother Care practices with their babies--the necklace continuously monitors the chest-to-chest skin contact duration between the caregiver and an infant, as well as two vital signs essential to an infant’s well-being: heart rate and respiration rate.
