Review paper unveils the potential of suppressor tRNA in gene therapy - EurekAlert

In a review paper published in Science China Life Sciences, a group of researchers explore the use of engineered or naturally occurring suppressor tRNA molecules in treating diseases caused by nonsense mutations. These molecules enable ribosomes to bypass premature termination codons, allowing for the production of full-length proteins. The paper discusses the mechanism, development, and clinical potential of suppressor tRNAs, comparing them with other therapies and highlighting their applications in research and treatment.
