Polar-coordinate line-projection light-curing continuous 3D printing for ultra-thin multi-material tubular structures - EurekAlert

How to achieve rapid manufacturing of ultra-thin multi-material tubular structures?

In last week's issue of International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing, Huiyuan Wang and coworkers from Beihang University et al develop a digital light processing printing setup with a rotating mandrel as the substrate, called Polar-coordinate Line-projection Light-curing Production (PLLP) technology.
Their work achieved the printing of multi-material tubular structures with a minimum wall thickness as thin as 50 micrometers and a minimum feature size of 10 micrometers. This method is conducive to rapid customization of tubular grafts and the manufacturing of tubular components in fields such as dentistry, aerospace, and more.
