Null causal relationship between inflammatory bowel disease and lipid profile - EurekAlert
This study investigated the relationship between cholesterol, other fat molecules in the blood (lipid profile), and the risk of developing inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The authors did not find a causal link between lipid profile and IBD. Additionally, they conducted separate analyses based on the subtypes of IBD (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis) and obtained consistent results. Further research is needed to explore potential alternative connections between lipids and IBD.
