Macaque Brainnetome Atlas: A multifaced brain map of rhesus monkey - EurekAlert

The research team led by Dr. Tianzi Jiang at the Brainnetome center of the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has continued the concept of "brainnetome atlas" and delineated a new macaque brain atlas, Macaque Brainnetome Atlas, based on connectivity information. This atlas not only provides a fine-grained parcellation of the macaque brain but also effectively integrates multimodal and multiscale data. Overcoming limitations of existing atlases, such as focusing only on local anatomical properties or single-modal information, the new atlas serves as a multifaced brain map depicting the architecture of the macaque brain. It will play an important role in cross-species comparisons, translational medicine, and computational modeling.
