Low-swelling hydrogel sealant for sealing of dural defect and prevention of postoperative adhesion - EurekAlert
In a paper published in National Science Review, scientists develop a tissue-adhesive and low-swelling hydrogel sealant for sealing and repairing of dural defects that frequently occur in neurosurgery. The hydrogel exhibited low swelling ratios, avoiding nerve compression in the limited intracranial and spinal spaces. In animal lumbar and cerebral dural injury models, the hydrogel effectively sealed the dural defects and prevented the cerebrospinal fluid leakage.
