Lanthanide catalysts enable one-step synthesis of complex drug precursors - EurekAlert

Hydrocarbazole is an important substructure of several biologically active compounds, and developing synthesis methods for these compounds is a crucial research topic. In a new study, researchers from Japan developed a new technique using a novel chiral holmium triflimide catalyst for synthesizing hydrocarbazole compounds with tetrasubstituted carbon with high purity, high yield, and high enantioselectivity. This innovative technique can lead to the development of new drugs and organic compounds.
