Ism1 deficiency in mice exacerbates bleomycin - EurekAlert

A recent study published in hLife on May 31, 2024, performed by a team of researchers led by Dr. Ruowen GE from the Department of Biological Sciences, National University of Singapore presents new insights on the role of a secreted protein Isthmin1 (ISM1) in protecting the lungs against severe pulmonary fibrosis. This study suggests that loss of ISM1 in mice enhanced the progression of pulmonary fibrosis accompanied with delayed resolution, thus, a potential therapeutic to be investigated for pulmonary fibrosis.
