House-sized asteroid zooms by Earth in close flyby

New research shows salt-loving microbes capable of surviving ~4 months in subsurface Mars-like conditions. Additionally, the microbes did better in Mars-like conditions compared to Earth conditions. This suggests they have adaptations to low pressure conditions similar to Mars.
