<p><strong>The natural ability of plant viruses to invade host plants makes them expedient vectors for the delivery of genome editing reagents into diverse plant species. In a recent review article published in aBIOTECH, Shen et al. describe various virus-based methods that have been employed to deliver genome editing reagents in plants, highlight the advantages and limitations of these delivery approaches, and identify opportunities that lie ahead. </strong></p>
