<p>Clinical management for Asian BRCA1 and BRCA2 carriers is a challenge, due to limited studies on breast and ovarian cancer-risk estimates in Asian populations.</p> <p>Now, the largest-scale study ever done of BRCA1 and BRCA2 carriers in an Asian population shows that estimated risks of breast and ovarian cancers for carriers in Singapore are similar to Western populations.</p> <p>Findings impact care planning, surveillance and recommendations for risk-reducing procedures for BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene carriers in Singapore.</p>
