Faulty Mitochondria Trigger Insulin Dysfunction in Pancreatic Cells, but ISRIB Restores Blood Sugar Control in Mice


Researchers found that faulty mitochondria in pancreatic cells trigger a stress response that disrupts insulin production, contributing to type 2 diabetes. The study also showed that ISRIB, an experimental drug, restored blood sugar control in mice by reversing this dysfunction.
