Exploring the link between brain topological resilience and cognitive performance in the context of aging and vascular ... - EurekAlert

This study, based on two large-scale cross-racial community cohorts, calculated brain topological resilience (BTR) and analyzed its association with aging, vascular risk factors, and atherosclerosis. The results of the structural equation model indicate that BTR has a significant effect in mediating the path of aging and vascular abnormalities affecting cognitive abilities. The findings of this study highlight the potential application of BTR as a biomarker reflecting cognitive abilities and emphasize the importance of vascular health management in the aging process.
