Jacob Rees-Mogg

Jacob William Rees-Mogg is a British politician serving as Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy since September 6 2022. He previously served as Minister of State for Brexit Opportunities and Government Efficiency in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Boris Johnson in 2022 and Leader of the House of Commons and Lord President of the Council from 2019 to 2022. He has been the Member of Parliament for North East Somerset since 2010. A member of the Conservative Party, Rees-Mogg has been associated with socially conservative views. Rees-Mogg was born in Hammersmith, London. He was educated at Westminster Under School, Eton College and Trinity College, Oxford, where he read history and presided the Oxford University Conservative Association.
