Eric Lander

Eric Steven Lander is an American mathematician and geneticist. Lander is a professor of biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a professor of systems biology at Harvard Medical School, a former member of the Whitehead Institute, and the founding director of the Broad Institute. He is a 1987 MacArthur Fellow. Lander co-chaired President Barack Obama's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. He is President Joe Biden's nominee for director of Office of Science and Technology Policy and adviser on science, which Biden has elevated to a cabinet post.
