Elucidating the link between Guillain–Barré syndrome and Takotsubo cardiomyopathy - EurekAlert


<p><strong>Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TCM) sometimes occurs as a complication of Guillain&ndash;Barr&eacute; syndrome (GBS), a serious immune-mediated condition, but the association between the two is not clear. In a recent study, researchers from Japan tackled this knowledge gap through a retrospective study on patients with GBS-TCM and GBS alone. Their findings highlight key clinical and serological features that differentiate GBS-TCM patients from GBS-only patients, paving the way for early TCM detection and improved disease management strategies. </strong></p>
