Chance of 2024 YR4 Asteroid hitting Earth rises even higher, NASA says. JWST to track it in March 2025
while it's still an "extremely low possibility", new observations of asteroid 2024 YR4 show the chances of it hitting Earth in 2032 have risen from 1.2% to 2.3%, and now 2.6% as of 17 February 2025. And, while it's possible the asteroid will be ruled out as an impact hazard, the chances of it hitting Earth are likely to rise further.
