Beyond work: Employment affects identity in late 20-somethings - EurekAlert


Researchers analyzed data from a two-wave longitudinal study with 875 Japanese adults in their late 20s. The results revealed that stable employment significantly impacts identity development, and that identity and life satisfaction are related regardless of employment status. Losing a job or shifting from full-time to part-time employment negatively affects identity, highlighting the importance of job stability for well-being.
