Artificial intelligence algorithms and optical imaging technology: A promising approach to intraoperative cancer diagnosis - EurekAlert


<p>In a paper published in Science Bulletin, researchers reported the combination of dynamic full-field optical coherence tomography (D-FFOCT), a label-free optical imaging technology, and deep learning for breast cancer diagnosis. The results revealed an impressive diagnostic accuracy of 97.6% on the independent testing set. Implementing this near-real-time automated workflow for bedside margin diagnosis during surgery enabled accurate and non-destructive diagnosis within 3 min.</p>
