Accelerated marine carbon cycling forced by tectonic degassing over the Miocene Climate Optimum - EurekAlert


<p>In a recent paper published in <em>Science Bulletin</em>, strong tectonic degassing during the Miocene Climatic Optimum from about 17 to 14 million years ago injected massive amounts of carbon into the Earth&#39;s surface system, accelerating the response of marine carbon cycle to eccentricity forcing.</p>
