A whole-food plant-based diet was significantly associated with an adequate-fiber diet, as well as reductions in metabolic syndrome components (hyperglycemia, hypertension, and low HDL) and metabolic syndrome in the adjusted model, study finds

This study utilizes data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2014–2018 (n = 29,400) to investigate the association of a whole-food plant-based diet (WFPBD) versus time-restricted eating (TRE) with the components of metabolic syndrome (MetS) and selected macronutrients (carbohydrates, protein, and fiber). Moderation of a WFPBD in the presence of TRE on MetS and its components was assessed.
