A small robot car can reduce children's stress before surgery - EurekAlert
Àgata Lapedriza, researcher at the UOC (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya), is the joint leader of an international project working on affective computing and social robotics which aims to reduce children's fears and anxiety when they have to undergo surgery or treatment in hospital. The researchers assessed the effectiveness of this first prototype, manufactured by Hyundai, during a pilot test involving more than eighty children with Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona Children's Hospital
