A new Transactions of Nonferrous Metals Society of China study unveils strategy for improving mechanical properties ... - EurekAlert

Particle-reinforced aluminum matrix composites (PRAMCs) are promising materials for automobile and aerospace applications due to their excellent properties. However, the tradeoff between their strength and ductility limits their application. Now, researchers have developed a new method for improving the strength and ductility balance of PRAMCs by introducing heterostructures and regulating particle distributions. The novel strategy has the potential to inspire the development of novel composites with excellent strength and ductility balance.
