100 years later: a new velvet worm species from Ecuador - EurekAlert


Scientists have discovered the first new species of Ecuadorian velvet worm in over 100 years. Named the Tiputini velvet worm (Oroperipatus tiputini), it was discovered in the lowland forests of the north-western Amazon and described in the open-access journal Zoosystematics and Evolution.
