44 sedentary overweight and obese women were randomized to low, moderate, or high-intensity walking with a whole-food, plant-based diet for 8 weeks. All groups lost weight; moderate intensity elicited the largest reductions in total body mass (−11%), fat mass (−26%), and percent body fat (−17%).
