Synthesis of pyrroles from isoxazoles by an O-to-C skeletal edit


A one-pot skeletal-editing reaction replaces isoxazole oxygen with carbon to form challenging pyrroles, enabled by an N-propargylic enaminone intermediate and a computational model predicting reaction outcomes.
